Cambo Oil and Gas Field is engaged in the exploration, development, and production of oil and gas resources in the offshore region near the Shetland Islands, Scotland, within the UK Continental Shelf. As a collaborative effort led by Siccar Point Energy and Royal Dutch Shell, the field aims to extract and process hydrocarbons in an economically viable and environmentally responsible manner.

Key activities and objectives of Cambo Oil and Gas Field include:
Exploration and Discovery:
The field focuses on identifying and assessing oil and gas reserves beneath the seabed. Cambo was discovered by Hess Corporation in 2002 and has undergone subsequent appraisal and development stages.
Field Development:
Cambo Oil and Gas Field is actively involved in the planning and execution of the development phases. This includes the design and deployment of production infrastructure, drilling of wells, and the establishment of facilities to extract and process hydrocarbons.
Project Operation:
Siccar Point Energy, holding a 70% stake, serves as the operator of the Cambo project, overseeing day-to-day activities, decision-making, and ensuring adherence to safety and environmental standards.
Partnership and Collaboration:
Collaboration with Royal Dutch Shell, which holds a 30% stake, emphasizes the importance of joint efforts and shared expertise in optimizing the field's development and ensuring its economic viability.
Innovation in FPSO Design:
Cambo stands out with its innovative use of a cylindrical FPSO (Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading) vessel design without a traditional turret. This marks a departure from conventional approaches in the industry.
Environmental Considerations:
The project places a strong emphasis on environmental responsibility. Fugro GB Marine provides environmental consultancy services to ensure that the development and production processes align with the highest ecological standards.
Resource Production:
With an expected production start in 2024, Cambo aims to yield significant quantities of oil and gas over a 25-year lifespan. The produced oil will be offloaded into tankers, while the gas will be utilized for power generation on the FPSO and transported via an export pipeline.
